YKG pick up a Friends of Spiers Conservation Award
The YKG Youth Group based at the Walker Halls have been presented with their well deserved Friends of Spiers Garnock Valley conservation Award at a ceremony held in the Spier's Old School Grounds.
YKG were one of five groups to collect an award in recognition of tree planting, habitat creation, litter clearance and other activities which have enhanced the old parklands to the benefit of wildlife and visitors.
YKG are working on their John Muir Discovery Awards and will be building bird boxes, bats boxes, learning about wildlife, etc.
The FoS Conservation Awards are an annual event judged by the FoS committee with advice from the NAC Garnock Valley Ranger.
