Garnock Valley Allotment Assocation
The GVAA site at Sersley Drive is coming on in leaps and bounds now, the car park is almost finished and many of the current plots are growing very well and look as if a good harvest will be assured, there are still plots available for anyone who wishes to grow their own chemical free good food, the speed of development of the site is picking up with lots of improvements and upgrades happening over the next few weeks, unfortunately the problem of dog fouling is still occuring, this is a public space which comes under the same legislation as all other public spaces, yes dogs are welcome on site as long as they are kept on their leashes and ALL dog mess is lifted and removed from the site.As per the public park if your dog fouls and you do not clean up, then you may be liable for a fine/prosecution.
The GVAA are doing a brilliant job of turning this site from "waste land" into a thriving wee space in it's own right every day someone is up on site digging, planting and enjoying the healthy lifestyle that goes with growing your own food.
If you fancy joining the GVAA just go up to the site, usually some one is there most days or go to the GVAA website at http://gvaa.co.uk/index.html
