Dr Who star Tennant on location in Kilbirnie?

  • David Tennant is reportedly filming on location in Kilbirnie for his new movie "The Decoy Bride"

Rumours have been sweeping the internet that former Dr Who star David Tennant is currently filming in Kilbirnie, on location for his new movie "The Decoy Bride" at the golf course and Place Farm.

A posting on Twitter by donnchadhk says: "David Tennant filming in kilbirnie, just follow the huge trailers @ the golf course and place farm"

In the romantic comedy, Tennant plays British writer James, who is engaged to famous film star Lara (Sex And The City 2 star Alice Eve).

The pair decide to get married on a remote Scottish island when their wedding is ambushed by a paparazzo.

Local girl Katie (Kelly MacDonald) has to be persuaded to stand in as a decoy bride to distract the paparazzo while Lara's manager Steve (Ugly Betty's Michael Urie) battles to transform form the dilapidated island into the fairytale setting for a wedding.

Unsurprisingly, when James meets Katie sparks fly and things don't turn out as planned.

The Decoy Bride was written by Neil Jaworski and Smack The Pony's Sally Phillips, who also stars in the film.

Production vehicles parked at the golf club are scheduled to leave today (Friday) .
