Community Council Meeting 21st June 2010
The June meeting of Kilbirnie and Glengarnock Community Council took place at Bridgend Centre Kilbirnie on Monday 21 st June from 7.30 pm.
7 members of the CC were present along with members of the public as well as Anthea Dickson local NAC Councillor and K.Gibson msp.
Last months meetings minutes read and proposed.
The civic week Queen and her attendants were presented to the CC and they looked very regal in their dresses.
The civic week queen told us of all the events they were attending.
Police Report:
None the police did not attend so nothing from them then.
Parking at Garnock Academy entrance road:
Complaints have been received about cars and vehicles being parked badly on School road thus causing disruption when other road users try to get to Garnock Academy.NAC unwilling to do anything as the vehicles in question are fully legal and roadworthy and not parked illegaly, but NAC did state that any bad or careless driving from bus operators should be reported, so again NAC passing the buck....
There are no updates on the fate of the Walker Hall.
CCTV again should be completed by end of July, funny is that not what they said in June?????
2 Main Street meeting with NAC to discuss solution to the derelict building issue.
Decision on new Garnock Academy site by end of August .
Town Centre regeneration, nothing yet.
Hunterstons new carbon capture power plant, various enviromental concerns and issues have come up over this plan,you will have seen the links about it on the s1 sites,use them and object if you feel you have to.
Wind Turbines,Baidland Hill dalry.NAC have approved and passed another 6 turbines for this site.
Local Bus Service.
Stagecoach will run this service till end of August then SPT will take over with no guarantee the service will continue.
Skip site in Mill Road will be shut for 3 months from end of July for refurbishment/upgrade.
This was the last CC meeting till the 20th September due to holidays etc.
