Friends of Spiers (FoS)
This is a new Garnock Valley based support group, affiliated to the British Trust For Conservation Volunteers (BTCV), which works with the Spier's Trust, North Ayrshire Council Ranger Service, NAC Streetscene, Beith Cultural & Heritage Society, and others to further the development and maintenance of the Spier's Parklands at the Spier's Old School Grounds.
FoS encourages other groups to become involved at Spier's through membership, carrying out conservation projects; biodiversity enhancement initiatives; photographic and other surveys; as well as arranging events and furthering the educational and ecotherapeutic uses of Spier's woodlands and open spaces.
A Memorial and Celebratory Tree project encourages the planting of pines, exotics and native deciduous trees in dedicated sectors of the parkland's woods.
